Riamba in Newcastle -  Event Ended

Seconds Out

The London 2012 Games are not just about sport. They will also celebrate cultures, people and languages – in London, the UK and around the world.

September 27th 2008 and a late Summer's day came to Newcastle and Darlington as Riamba and the Vamos dancers brought their infectious style of music and dance to the passers-by in these two city centres.  With boxing demonstrations by club boxers from Tyneside and Teesside and the whole event given an energised introduction by the MC of the day, Coco Vega, it was a real collaboration between sport and the Arts.
